1) Name

Lauren Ohayon


2) What are you passionate about helping people do better? 

I am a longtime yoga and pilates teacher and movement therapist. I used to teach pure movement but I had so many clients with injuries (and my own to deal with) that I began to work with people on learning to move better, learning to re-balance their bodies, learning to be pain-free through their movement choices. One could say I teach people to exercise better and more safely - but it extends beyond the yoga mat and into how they move all day long. The majority of people feel aches and pains because of their posture and alignment not because they are exercising wrong. Sadly there is a huge focus on looking good, having toned arms, a flat stomach and a great ass. That focus can do more harm than good because it is function we are after - not form. 

My niche is moms and I work with a ton of “fit” moms who are in bad form - they leak urine, have painful sex, their abs have separated and they have hernias and their pelvic organs have been displaced into their vaginas. My work is to help women focus on being in a healthy and well balanced body – to heal their bodies and prevent further injury. It is really rewarding but the amount of misinformation out there pushing fit = healthy is crazy. Fit and healthy are not synonymous at all. 


3) What would you say is the secret to making more time for the things that really matter?
There is no quick fix, no overnight success and anything you really want takes time and discipline. We live in a time where we can get anything we want by tapping on a phone - a mate, food, clothes, shelter. We do not believe in trying hard anymore or committing to things. You want freedom? You need to work for it. 


4) If you could pull back the curtain for a sec what's something that we'd be surprised to learn about you?

I love my 6 pm glass of wine. Thank goddess for fermentation.


5) What's your next big thing?
My popular and long awaited Online program Restore Your Core was just launched. 

I am also teaching a sold out retreat in Colombia in a week, another one in Portugal in May and training teachers in between. The week of yoga in Portugal is a whole body wellness escape where you will get the tools to move safely and in a way that feels just right for you.
