It's ok to be Messy

Dear Fellow Perfectionists,

I adore you which is why I'm telling you this. As much as you hate to admit it you can’t always perfect. I get it, that’s really hard to face and you have plans of being the exception to the rule. The cold hard truth is that you’re not. The bright side is that it doesn’t matter. What’s most important is to get your work out there for the world to see, hear, and experience. You deserve that and so does everyone else. When you keep tinkering and fixing whatever it is that you’re doing it’s pretty much the same as not doing anything at all because in both cases you’re keeping your gifts hidden away. The only way to overcome this is willingness. To Be Messy. To Be Imperfect. To Be Wrong. To Be Human. What you consider to be unattractive about yourself might just be the thing that others (including me) find most compelling about you.

I declare today National It’s Ok To Be Messy Day!

Launch that website and make corrections later. Turn in that first draft of your screenplay because there are more drafts to come. Go to sleep at a reasonable hour as opposed to practicing your speech for that presentation one more time cuz something unexpected will happen anyway and you need to be alert enough to roll with those punches.

Love,
Sharon

PS In the comments below tell me how you plan to be messy in order to share your gifts with the world.
