It's not your job to do everybody
else's job too
This one goes out to all of you perfection driven overachievers out there.
In an article in Forbes, delegating is the number two top quality that makes a great leader. When I’ve asked my clients to tell me more about what they’re doing with their time that is making them feel stretched so thin they usually start listing off a massive list of “stuff”. When I ask them why they feel the need to do so many of those things, that have nothing to do with their big goals and dreams, they often explain that they don’t want to burden other people, so they just take care of everything themselves.
1) We’re talking about adults here. They can say no.
2) People like being asked for help and to be given responsibility. It actually makes them feel good about themselves.
So, pull it together people and just do your job. Let everyone else do theirs. You’ll all sleep better at night that way.
